Brotherhood Mentoring Program

created by Rev. David Seward

The Brotherhood Mentoring Program is designed to address the plight of African American male youth.
It is based on traditional family values emphasizing African American cultures. These values include the role of the male in the nuclear family, the importance
of the extended family and the concept of
inter-dependence and community.

The program provides role models and teaches appropriate attitudes and behaviors to African American males between the ages of 12 to 17.

The program objectives include helping participants to:

* Examine their state of mind in the context
of their environment.

* Explore their role in setting goals for
developing healthy life skills.

* Share information and personal experience
in a forum of their peers.

* Encourage the development of
healthy relationships.
